Authoritative concepts
The K:core data dictionary groups terms with the same meaning into a single concept, with definitions and sources stated. Its breadth of authoritative concepts means you never start with an empty dictionary.
Traceable meaning
Every term carries a globally unique identifier and can be traced to a definition and a source. The identifier stays the same while the term changes with the reader’s language.
Standards-based data governance
Data specifications define data types, property values, units of measurement and qualifiers of measurement. Requirements are reused rather than rewritten.
Controlled data creation
Master data records are created against specifications, so consistency is built in and duplication is eliminated at source, not corrected afterwards.
Exchange ready
Specifications and data are exchanged in machine-readable formats such as XML and JSON. Partners that share concepts and identifiers exchange data without re-mapping.
